A Piece of Home
Last Thursday I was facetiming with my friend Melissa, we were catching up and just talking about random things when out of nowhere she said "ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING THIS WEEKEND?!" I replied no because Maria was going to be out of town so it was most likely going to be a very laid back weekend. After I told her that I wasn't doing anything she practically yelled asking if she could come and visit me. I thought she was kidding...but she most definitely was NOT kidding!
This past weekend is one that will be tough to beat! Melissa drove up to UTSA on Friday just to come visit me! As soon as she got to campus I showed her my dorm room, we put up her stuff and we went and got sushi. Sushi has always been Melissa and my thing. Every time we get sushi we always end up having some life changing conversation that was much needed for both of us. We went to Kona, highly recommended to anyone out there, we got the Eel Cucumber roll (one of my favorites) and shared some fried rice. We talked about everything, stuff that I hadn't talked about while I have been in college...it was amazing. After eating we went back to my room and hung out for a little bit, my friend Carla had invited me to a shindig of sorts so I decided that Melissa and I would be going! We took our time getting ready, a solid 2 hours. We jammed, sang, and got cute together before leaving. It was a really fun night! We met some new people and laughed for most of the night!
Saturday morning we got ready and headed to my favorite Pandaria (Mexican bakery). After, we dropped some pandulce off at my grandmas house and visited with her for a little, I'm happy we got to see her because I don't get to visit her often. After we went to a cute coffee shop to study then got some Mexican food downtown. The entire day was really chill and just involved us talking even more and laughing like old times. The night we pigged out. Melissa and I ordered a vegan pizza, bought double stuffed oreos, sea salt and vinegar chips, and then headed back to my room. We put on our movie Burlesque and sang the entire way through it. We were in quite a giggly mood, so its safe to say we had a good time!
In the morning Melissa woke up early and left back to TCU :(. I am so grateful that she came and visited me because I was really missing my friends from home.
